Berkshire Photovoltaic Services, Incentives Application Checklist
- BPVS is fully certified and insured for MA Incentive Programs. We will help you to complete the application for incentives through the Massachusetts Technology Collaborative Commonwealth Solar program, if eligible.
- Here is a checklist of items to send us:
- A copy of a recent Electric bill (all pages please).
- Photos of the roof where the Solar Panels will be installed or for a Ground Level pole mount, a photo of its proposed location.
- Photos of any potential shading obstructions. A photovoltaic array is efficient if it receives no shading from 9:00AM to 3:00 PM every day of the year.
- This is our Incentive Application Checklist so you can be prepared with the proper documents.
- To be eligible, your utility company must be one of the following:
- In MA
- National Grid (Massachusetts Electric and Nantucket Electric)
- NSTAR Electric
- UNITIL (Fitchburg Gas and Electric)
- Western Massachusetts Electric Company
- The following steps proceed to an installation:
- Analysis of Electricity usage - All pages of your bill (including yearly usage summary usually displayed in a bar chart) electronic or clear copy is required for program participation.
- We schedule a site assessment at which we will take panoramic photos of and at the array location, chart the solar window, examine the structural and electrical details of your site. Typically we can design and quote on site .Our Proposal is wrapped into the state program application and includes detailed documentation on design and our credentials. Jurisdictional permits and utility approvals follow.
- The MTC Commonwealth Solar Program has an energy efficiency portion to the rebate process. The first packet that we send to our customers includes a page about energy audits and what has to be done. For 'MA' Residential; if your house was built after March 1, 1998 you do not need to have an energy audit performed, just provide proof that the house was built after this date. For commercial buildings no audit needs to be performed if the structure was built after July 1, 2001.
- All other required Documentation will be supplied by BPVS to establish that your site is a viable photovoltaic system location, eligible for state incentives.
